I teach music lessons! Here's everything to know:

Teaching Approach

Private lessons are a crucial part of a musician’s journey, which is why I’m committed to providing a custom-tailored and high-quality experience that is fun, engaging, and informative.

I create a custom curriculum for each student in order to achieve the student’s long-term goals whether that is making their high school drum line / front ensemble, placing at region/all-state, drum corps auditions, and even preparing for Music School at the collegiate level. 

Studio Guidelines

I accept students of all ages.

In-person lessons are taught out of my private home studio in Irmo, SC

Online lessons are taught via google meets/zoom.

Lessons are taught on a weekly basis at either 30 minute or 60 minute durations. I believe in clear communication with parents or guardians to decide on which duration is best for their student.

In order to efficiently use the time in lessons and to maximize the growth of students, students are expected to practice multiple times a week. An appropriate practice plan will be discussed between myself and the student.

Implements and other gear are a must to be a successful percussionist. As a student continues to grow, I will give recommendations to continually grow their implement collection, however here is what I ask students to have before starting lessons:

• Snare Drum Sticks and a practice pad

• Pair of Marimba Mallets

• Metronome app

• Binder or folder for storing music, worksheets, practice journal, and staff paper

Progress Reports

Students receive a weekly progress report, with details on progress and recommendations for practice between lessons.

Rates and Payment

Rates: For rates please contact me here.

Payment: Lessons are scheduled on a monthly basis. Once lessons are scheduled, an invoice will be supplied which will be due on the first of the month or before the first lesson (if you are starting lessons in the middle of the month)

Invoices will be supplied via e-mail, payment can be made via written check, PayPal / Zelle, or other wireless services. 

Cancellation Policy

I ask that if you must cancel a lesson you give me 24 hours notice.

If enough notice is provided one of the following can happen:

• We can reschedule for another day during the same week

• The unused lesson can roll over into the next month of lessons.

No refunds or credits may be given for no-show lessons or cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice.

No refunds are given for unused lessons should the student choose to terminate lessons before completing their term package.
